Knit Night at Steph's

Tonight, we met at Steph's house for a night of fun, food, and knitting...two out of three ain't bad. My current project and I got in a HUGE fight. I said things I didn't mean, the sweater threw hurtful moments from our past back in my face.... It took us a while before we could reconcile. We made it through - and, though things are still a little rocky, we're on our way...we're on our way.

Anyway, it was fun to teach Kathy to knit, though of course Stephanie was better at teaching her. She did great! Ms Erin did a super job on her new project, too. Marie was a' truckin along on the same sweater as me, and Stephanie was running around playing Ms Fixit.

Apparantly, I'm missing limbs...

So you might be confused in looking at these two pictures and actually think I succeed in making one for each leg that I seem to have....yeah, you're wrong. I just took the pictures on the 2 colors of backgrounds so you can see the colors in the legwarmer better.

I actually love these soon-to-be....ok, well possibly-to-be legwarmers. This was how I taught myself how to change colors and to carry the unused color up the side seam. I was pretty proud.

This pattern is also super cool...(but now that I say that, I'm not even sure I could find it again if I had to). They're slouchy and tapered a bit, so they seem like they'll stay in place for maximum warmness factors in the lovely winters we have here!

This is the end of my "UFO" postings - at least for tonight. Those are the only ones I have here with me. I have probably at least the same number of unfinished projects at my parents' house, but we'll leave those in the closet for now.

One good mitten deserves another....

I also started this mitten last winter when I got back into it...but after I got to this point, I realized these were going to be HUGE on my little hands...so I guess maybe I gave up. I couldn't make myself pull it apart though... Maybe I'll finish them one day for my buddy 'Man Hands Laura'.

Fingerless gloves - not to be.

Ok, so this one isn't much better than the previous two. This was a project I started last winter when I got back into this whole madness I like to call "knitting". I was going to make these fingerless gloves - and apparantly I got bored. Something new....

Hobo bag and fuzzy red scarf

So these two are the blacksheep of my collection of projects. This one to the left is at least completely cast on....which is more than I can say about this red scarf I am making. I didn't even finish casting on the stitches. I think my problem runs deeper than even I realized......

Tunic Sweater

This sweater, too, has a pretty good shot at actually seeing its own completion. I love this pattern, despite the corny website of its origin. It has fun, but subtle detail and it knits up FAST. What is completed already probably took me 45 minutes...and that's half of the front. I bought a warm brown to go at the top (the sweater is half and half) but I might switch is out for a deepish blue. I haven't decided.
This is set to be a Christmas gift - we'll see how much I like it and if I can part with it. :-D

Lace Leaf Sweater

Ok, so this is the first of many partially done projects that I will post tonight. I took pictures of some, and I'm embarassed a bit....

Anyway, this is a project that was voted "most likely to be finished in the same year it was started". I have the bottom half of the sweater done, but the top half is only about 1/3 done, and no sleeves yet. I'm excited about finishing this one. It has been fun to work on because I've learned a lot of new techniques doing it, and I've gotten a lot more even in my knitting. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Hello!

Well, I must admit - I'm excited to join the community of bloggers. This one will be dedicated to my knitting 'UFO's' (I just learned that not 3 minutes ago). I have yet to complete any knitting project undertaken...which will soon become apparant.

So keep an eye peeled for the soon to come many pictures of my half done (or less than half done) projects that I have done in my years of knitting. Thanks for reading!
